From 2021 to 2022 Pierce County home prices increased 18%. In the year before, from 2020 to 2021, the median home price in Tacoma increased 15%. Where can I find an affordable home in Pierce County?

The most affordable homes in Pierce County are largely located in the most remote parts of the county. Elbe/Ashford, Wilkeson, Anderson Island, and Longbranch all still have homes for sale under $400,000. The most affordable place to buy a home in Pierce County that is less than 30 minutes from Tacoma is Parkland, where single family homes sell for about $399,000.
